FAQ About Break-Out Melee

How much do you pay?
That's a hard question to answer. As with all diamonds, the value of melee is determined by quality and size. Typically in a lot of break-out melee, there is brown and other off-color diamonds, as well as small baguettes, chipped and broken stones, single cuts, some very imperfect stones, and even some nice ones. The diamonds can range in value from several hundred dollars a carat, to as little as five or ten dollars a carat. However, the majority of the break-out lots we see tend to be worth between $60 and $110 per carat.

How long will it take to get an answer?
That's an easy one to answer. We usually can get back to you the day we receive your package, or at least by the following day. Please be sure to insure your package before sending. We are insured once it gets to us, and we'll be responsible for it until you get paid, or receive your merchandise back.

What types of Melee do you buy?
We're buying all shapes, sizes and qualities. We even buy the very tiny, and imperfect diamonds.

Do I have to assort the Melee before I send it to you?
The answer is no. We have on staff a crew of sorters that can help us determine the value of your lot.

When I send it in, whose attention do I need to send it to?
Just send it to us at our New York offices. It will get to the right department. We'll call you after we've had a look, and discuss with you the value of your lot.

How fast can I get paid?
Just like the postcard says... immediately. Once we agree on the price of your melee, you need to fax or email a bill of sale to us, and we'll overnight a check to you for the full amount. It's that easy.

What else do you buy?
In addition to break-out melee, we also buy most types of larger diamonds. We are primarily interested in any second-hand diamonds above one carat that are offered to you, that you don't want to keep in your inventory. If it is price worthy, we can most likely use it. If it's too large, too dark, or too poor a quality for you, we're interested in purchasing it. And we pay for all second-hand diamonds we buy, the same way we pay for break-out melee... immediately. We can also help guide you regarding price. When you're presented with a diamond from your customer, we can help you determine the value, to make it easier for you to purchase.
